Love: as I see it.

"Life is way too short to go through if filled with hate." This came from a blog I've read a month ago, today. I could only agree.
Indeed, hate would only bring a life of misery and regret. Physically, a hate-filled individual is prone to suffer some pain or illness, and even death. Isn't it true that many suffer from heart attack following a fit of rage, when hatred can no longer be contained? And how about those who due to so much hatred do things during some blinding moments? Too late for regret!
So it would do well for one to fill his or her life up with love and enjoy every bit of his or her existence. Well, as love, like life, is a wide-ranging matter, any attempt at defining it, therefore, would only be found wanting, hence, incomplete.
Again, following that line, here is love the way I see it......

WHAT IS LOVE?

Love is sharing
not just a portion of your heart;
But giving yourself to others
in whole and not in part.

Love is staying alongside
dear ones in distress -
giving them a ray of hope
when life's shrouded in mist.

Love is being happy,
when friends do have success;
And feeling sad for them,
when life's becomes a mess.

Love is keeping touch
with old folks who live far -
as though they're near, just next door
or may be reached by car.

Love is making room also,
for faults and shortcomings;
Knowing many have gone astray
when no one cared to listen.

Love is laying down one's life
for dear ones if need be;
As what the Lord did once for us
for all eternity.
