From Dan Greene of "Finish Strong" fame, I learned this: "Regardless of what came before or what has yet to come, what matters most right now is how I choose to respond to the challenge before me. Will I lie down or will I fight? The choice is mine..."
Yes, you are right, he chose to finish strong.
Fact is, we all must deal with challenges from time to time. The words 'finish strong' instantly and clearly communicate a performance goal. The challenges that we have to deal with pose as either an obstacle or a threat to our success. We must not be daunted, though. We ought rather to overcome these obstacles and/or eradicate the threats and finish real strong. When we shall have done so, we shall be fortunate to have come upon.....
LIFE'S SHINING MOMENTS
In the course of our journey
starting from birth,
there are occasions for sorrow
and moments of mirth.
Sighs are heard, tears are shed
during great disappointments;
Faces glow, eyes sparkle at
life's shining moments!
The road to success
is often times laden -
with trials, tests of courage, and
things foreboding;
Sometimes we pass
through tunnels of torment -
coming out unscathed is one of
life's shining moments!
Looking back the way we came,
we either smile, frown, or grin;
Having traveled thus far
we remember neither ease nor pain.
We could only utter a prayer -
sing a song of praise, not lament;
Having reached the endline, need not erase
life's shining moments!

How i wish that come the day that i will tell my children, especially my son, who will also walk my path all of my struggles, frustrations and triumphs...with a grin on my face, i survived the turmoil...aahh life's shining moment!... -Bro. Joy
